Higher conversion; More phone or emails; Request quote; Higher turnover. Convident’s marketers are happy to take on the challenge!
Duplicating content means that (partially) the same content can be found on different individual web pages. This content can be on web pages of 2 different websites (external duplicate content) or is on web pages of the same website (internal duplicate content). A large amount of this kind of content can have a negative effect on your search engine optimization.
How do you prevent content duplication?
Google indicates that it concerns ‘substantial blocks of content’ and ‘largely the same content’. It is therefore difficult to estimate what falls under it. Convident’s online marketers do have two solutions for you to easily prevent this.
- Make use of unique content.
By continuing to write unique content, you avoid the situation where your content duplicates on your website. You create unique content by developing texts, images or videos yourself. You can use other content for inspiration, but the content must be written yourself.
2. Use the ‘rel=canonical’ tag
Implementing the rel=canoncial tag sounds very technical, but is very simple in implementation. Suppose web page X contains the original content and web page Y contains the duplicate content. By using the HTML tag rel=’canonical’ on the duplicate content webpage Y, the SEO value of this page will be redirected to the original webpage X.
