Types of keywords

Long-tail keywords are search terms that are often more extensive and specific than a regular search. The opposite of long tail is short tail. Unlike long tail, short tail keywords are shorter and more general in nature. There is a high search volume on shorttail, so scoring high on such a keyword is a good thing. However, the relevance to your web pages can be greatly reduced when using shorttail keywords.
