Job has, since birth, a physical disability in the form of cerebral palsy (CP). That is, he has increased and sometimes uncontrolled muscle tensions, in his case especially in his legs and right arm. In addition, he is hard of hearing. But that doesn’t stop him from playing sports at an exceptionally high level! “Really enormous drive and great perseverance. A very special project on all fronts. Because in addition to our support in terms of website and communications, Job is a real source of inspiration for many top athletes,” says Rick Dreise of Convident.

4 years ago it became clear that Job has sports talent and he became a regular player of the national wheelchair rugby team! “We are now preparing for the qualifying tournament for promotion from Division C to Division B,” said Job van der Laan. Wheelchair rugby is not yet part of the NOC/NSF organization. This means that Job, together with his loved ones, has to pay for the travel and accommodation costs for foreign tournaments and training in the Netherlands. Equipment (eg rugby wheelchair and gloves) is also at your own expense.

The NOC/NSF status can be expected with promotion to Division A. Job is constantly looking for sponsors who will help realize his dream.
